as we know that... lunch becomes more delightful if we cook some homemade authentic dish which is very close to our heart.  

Today I am giving you guys the recipe of authentic bengali cuisine and which I often enjoyed while growing up..
 It is a vegetarian recipe.. and it is very delicious
LENTIL MEATBALL IN INDIAN CURRY SAUCE / ডালের  বড়ার তরকারি 
NOW THE PREPARATIONS:-


INGREDIENTS-

  1. Lentil of your choice (1 cup) *i used Masoor dal or RED LENTIL
  2. Flour (1/4th cup)
  3. Potato ( 2 medium sized)
  4. ONION ( 3 large sized)
  5. Salt (as per taste)
  6. Oil ( 1 TBSP)
  7. Green chilies (2 medium sized)
  8. Dried red chilies (1 )
  9. Garam Masala (1 TSPN)
  10. Jeera powder ( 1 TSPN)
  11. Turmeric Powder a little bit
  12. Ghee (1 TBSP)

THE PROCESS:-

  • Soak the lentil overnight so they become soft and easy to grind. The more soft the mixture the more easy it becomes to make the fries.
  • Next morning Grind the lentils and do not grind them very smooth otherwise they will break while cooking. they should have some texture in them otherwise they will not be good. 
  • When the lentil is ready then add the required amount of flour into the mixture.
  • Then Thinly slice a onion and add into the mixture. Onion adds a texture into the fries.
  • Add some salt.
  • Then fry them into oil in small portions.
  • When they are fried properly then put them aside. They should be golden brown in colour.
  • Now making the curry.. add some ghee into the pan. You can also add oil of your choice but ghee adds a divine flavour into it.
  • Add bay leaf into the pan. And let it fry for little bit.
  • Add sliced onions into it. fry them until they are translucent.
  • Then add the potatoes and cook them until they are soft. They should be mushy and this will bring out the taste and texture of the curry.
  • Add turmeric and salt.
  • After the potatoes are cooked properly then add the Jeera Powder into it and fry them for little bit.
  • Add some water as it will be the sauce of the curry. You can also mash some potatoes in the curry and this will make the sauce or gravy thick. *this is a trick* you can use in your kitchen for any curry which have potatoes in them.
  • Add the Fried lentil meatballs into it and let the curry come to boil.
  • Add Garam Masala into it.
  • And then Turn off the Flame. And your curry is ready
Tip- Use hot water while cooking this ensures quick cooking hence prevents the delaying of cooking time
NOW YOU HAVE YOUR LENTIL MEATBALL CURRY READY... YOU CAN ENJOY THIS WITH RICE AS WELL AS ROTI OR PARATHA..😋
